The Hillel Experience
This section provides information about Hillel chapters on the campuses of colleges and universities in both Carolinas.

The new Hillel building at 210 West Cameron Avenue in Chapel Hill, NC is the focus of all Hillel activities in North Carolina. Hillel officers on each campus listed below stay in close contact with the center and its professional staff in Chapel Hill, shown below.

Annual activities include fall retreats, statewide Shabbat dinners, the Birthright Israel program, Hannukah parties and national conferences.

Hillel at Duke University in Durham takes the form of the Freeman Center for Jewish Life, shown below.

This stunning 17,000 square-foot center, opened in 1999, provides Duke students and faculty a place to worship, study, dine and gather socially. It features Bubbe's Kosher Kitchen open Monday-Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and 7:15 pm by reservation. Located on Campus Drive which joins the west and east campuses. Take Durham Freeway, NC 147, to Swift Avenue then sharp left on Campus Drive.


Contact faculty, staff advisers and rabbis who serve the following 13 NC campuses to bring Jewish students together for fall retreats, statewide shabbat dinners, the Birthright Israel program, Hannukah parties and national conferences.
